Next release This sector's pack (words, templates and standard indicators) is built for the next release. Today's live product uses the general words in each sector; the modules below carry their own labels.

The sector pack

Water and sanitation: words, templates and indicators

Free in every plan. Next release Built and tested on the release branch, not in the live product yet. It reaches the live product with the next release.

The sector's words

The product says these instead of the general words, everywhere in the workspace.

Definitions are copied from each published standard and pinned to its version; each one names its source in the product. A template adds an indicator with no baseline and no target.

Starter templates

A template brings tasks, milestones, risks and indicators with no figures in them: no amount, no baseline, no target.

Water supply scheme

Sources, pipes and connections built, then operated and maintained on a schedule.

4 tasks · 2 milestones · 2 risks · form: Water point check

  • JMP W-BASIC Population using at least basic drinking water services percent of population
  • Household connections made connections

Sanitation programme

Facilities built and households reached, counted one record at a time.

4 tasks · 2 milestones · 2 risks · form: Site visit

  • JMP S-BASIC Population using at least basic sanitation services percent of population
  • JMP H-BASIC Population with a basic hygiene service percent of population

Solid waste collection service

Collection rounds planned and run, with missed rounds kept as records.

4 tasks · 2 milestones · 2 risks

The places a project works at, each with its own fields. The same five types for each sector; a road section is measured by chainage.

Modules

The modules that matter most in water and sanitation

Our suggestion, not a limit: any module can be used in any sector. Each label says what runs in the live product today. Labels checked on 14 October 2026 against the live product (the build of 8 October 2026) and the release branch.

Partly live

Results & M&E

Indicators, targets, values with a second-person check, and data quality rules.

Indicators and their reported values run today; a missing value shows as a dash. Targets are built for the next release.

Procurement & Contracts

Procurement plans, tenders to award, contracts, purchase orders and the vendor register.

Procurement plan lines and the contract screen run today. Bids, evaluation and award have no screen yet, and vendors, tenders and purchase orders are not in the live product yet.

List price $50 a month

Cost tables & Economic analysis

Cost tables, the financing plan, FIRR, EIRR, NPV and sensitivity, and appraisal documents.

Cost tables run today, and appraisal where its checking engine is installed. Economic and financial analysis is built for the next release.

Works & Measurement

Bills of quantities, the measurement book, interim payment certificates, retention and variations.

Work on a phone without a signal, sent when the phone reconnects.

List price $30 a month

Included in every plan: Core Partly live Projects, activities, approval steps, risks, the audit log and the Project Book run today. Organisation structure, meetings, blockers, stage gates, lessons and the timeline are built for the next release. And the sector pack Next release.

Prices are list prices per workspace, as decided on 2026-10-12. They apply once modules can be added one by one, which comes with the next release; today the product is offered per programme, on quotation (see Pricing). A module that is not in the live product is not sold yet.

Every module for water and sanitation

Worked example, fictional

A water board builds 40 water points

A fictional water board in Eastmoor builds 40 water points and reports, for each district, how many people use at least basic drinking water.

  1. Next release Sector pack

Indicators come from the pack with their codes, such as JMP W-BASIC, so the board reports the definition its funders use; the user of a water point is called a Service user.

  2. Partly live Procurement & Contracts

The drilling contract is recorded against its procurement plan line. Procurement plan lines and the contract screen run today. Bids, evaluation and award have no screen yet, and vendors, tenders and purchase orders are not in the live product yet.

  3. Partly live Results & M&E

Each district's value is recorded; a district not yet reported shows a dash, never zero. Indicators and their reported values run today; a missing value shows as a dash. Targets are built for the next release.

Fictional districts and figures. A dash means no value has been reported. Partly live Results & M&E

Fictional organisation, places and figures. Each step carries the label of the module it uses. A step labelled Next release, In development or Planned describes the design, not today's product; a step labelled Partly live uses only the part that runs today.
