For World Bank-financed projects

Run an IPF project unit on records that hold up to review

Project implementation units on World Bank Investment Project Financing report on money, procurement and results to a task team that reads them closely. projectsmanager.ai keeps the work plan, advances, interim financial reports and results framework in one place, with every figure traceable to the records behind it.

What reviewers look at

The four things a task team typically checks

Requirements are set in each project's financing agreement, disbursement and financial information letter and project operations manual. The list below is typical, not universal; check your own documents.

Interim financial reports

Unaudited IFRs, usually quarterly or semi-annual, showing sources and uses of funds by component and category, cumulative against the budget, and the designated account position. Reviewers ask whether the figures reconcile and where they came from.

Procurement plans in STEP

The procurement plan is agreed and tracked in the Bank's STEP system. Reviewers look at whether activities follow the agreed method and thresholds, whether timelines are slipping, and whether contracts match the work plan.

Results framework

PDO and intermediate indicators with baselines, targets and actuals feed the Bank's implementation status and results reporting. Reviewers ask for the evidence behind reported values and why any are missing.

Disbursement

Withdrawal applications, documentation of expenditures and the pace of disbursement against plan. Slow disbursement and unexplained advances are common topics at implementation support missions.

How the product helps

Available today

Annual work plan

Activities by component, with budget, responsible unit and timing. The plan is the reference that spending, procurement and results attach to.

IFRs from recorded payments

Each IFR line is a sum of recorded transactions. Open a line to see the payments in it. A cell with no data reads "not recorded", not zero.

Advances

Advances to implementing units and staff, their liquidation status and the documents attached, so outstanding balances are visible before a mission asks.

Results framework with evidence

Indicators with baselines, targets and reported values, each linked to evidence such as attendance lists or completion certificates.

Approvals and audit trail

Approval workflows for plans, advances and reports, with a record of who changed what and when.

Read-only access for the task team

Where the unit chooses, Bank staff can view figures and their sources without being able to change them. Implementing units see only their own work.

Cost tables and reports are partly available. The AI assistants answer questions about your records and cite the source, or decline when the records do not support an answer.

Not shipped yet, and labelled that way

Procurement method selection

Suggesting a method and review type from the agreed thresholds in your procurement plan. In development. STEP remains the system of record for Bank procurement.

Withdrawal applications

Preparing withdrawal application packages from recorded expenditures. In development. Submission still happens through the Bank's own systems.

Completion reporting

Assembling the borrower's input to the completion report from the project record, and planning a follow-on project. In development.

Field monitoring with GPS-tagged photos, a double-entry ledger and single sign-on are also in development.
